Perfect for pursuing your passion for learning and community, we now have multiple casual opportunities for Learning Hub Officers to work across our Cannington, Riverton, Willetton and Bentley libraries.

The City’s Learning Hub Officers are instrumental in driving engagement with the local community through the delivery of innovate programs and events that foster learning and literacy across our libraries. Reporting to the Team Leader Libraries and working alongside a creative and passionate team, this role undertakes duties such as:

·                     Develop and implement a diverse range of library programs, events and services to encourage learning and literacy, community participation, and a sense of belonging.

·                     Support the provision of the library circulation services and operations.

·                     Demonstrate and promote the City’s digital literacy resources.

·                     Provide welcoming customer service to the Canning community and responding to their needs in a friendly and timely manner.

Successful applicants will also enjoy:

·                     A genuine culture that encourages authenticity, collaboration, resiliency and creativity

·                     Gym Membership

·                     Starting from $31.62 per hour + 25% casual loading (depending on age)

·                     11% superannuation

Applicants will have a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in a customer focused role and be able to demonstrate an ability to build positive relationships with customers and colleagues. Advanced digital literacy skills and familiarity with library technologies are required and confidence in demonstrating and guiding customers in using library resources is key. Importantly, applicants have great interpersonal skills and genuinely enjoy engaging with community members and fostering learning and connectedness. In addition, flexibility with shifts and availability to work Saturdays is highly desirable.

Successful applicants will also have a C Class driver’s licence and be able to provide a current, satisfactory National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check.
