The University of Melbourne (Scholarly Services) seeks a proactive, innovative, dynamic professional for the position of Manager, Cultural Collections (University Archivist) serving as a strategic leader understanding the challenges of acquiring, describing and preservation of both digital and print archival and cultural collections



The Manager, Cultural Collections (University Archivist) leads and provides strategic direction to the teams with custodial and management responsibilities for cultural collections within Scholarly Services (University of Melbourne Archives, Special Collections and Grainger Museum), developing strategy, policy and frameworks for the acquisition and stewardship of these collections facilitating access, maximising visibility, engagement and integration into the academic life of the University by supporting its teaching and research priorities and maintaining and strengthening the public profile of the collections through community engagement.



The successful incumbent will be the University Archivist representing the University of Melbourne in this capacity both nationally and internationally.  It is a unique opportunity to lead and drive transformational change, in particular, in the digital environment developing strategic frameworks to collect, manage and preserve digital archives.
