Hi,
Just to update the earlier email about CURTIS …
The CURTIS meeting is actually NEXT week, 9 November , not tonight.
Please see the information below
Dear CURTIS members,
This year's Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Thursday 9th November, 5pm at The Tav, Building 106C, Curtin University Bentley. RSVP via email and/or Facebook
Come on down and enjoy a light dinner on us! The amazing guild has granted us some catering and we will be having the final meeting of the year in The Tav, followed by games and a quiz! Drinks can also be purchased at your own cost.
Arrange time off from family/work/anything else...don't miss this year's AGM!
AGM: 5 - 6.30pm
Social Night & light dinner: 6.30pm - 8pm
Four committee positions: President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer will become vacant. If you would like to nominate for a role please email me as soon as you can, so that we are all better planned for the meeting.
Much planning and preparation has gone into organizing this event, we have hired a venue and arranged catering. For the AGM to go ahead we need to have a minimum of 10 full general members present (we can also accept phone calls - email to arrange). It would be even better if there were more than 10 so that we can make a real party of it, we would love to see you there!!
I graduate soon, this is my final two weeks as a student at Curtin, which means I won't be able to continue as a committee member for CURTIS in the new year. I'm really excited this 5 year long journey is coming to an end, but learning never ends right?! Being part of CURTIS has encouraged me to practice public speaking, improve leadership skills and discover communication via different mediums. For me its part of my degree and part of the university experience I'll take with me. I really encourage you all to challenge yourselves, set goals and work towards them, especially in the realm of leadership, collaboration and communication with the LIS industry. Being actively involved in the CURTIS committee can be a useful platform for you to achieve this.
What do you need to do now?
* RSVP
* Consider the idea of nominating for a committee role - then email me about it!
Queries? Unsure of your membership status? Want to join in the new year? Don't hesitate to get in touch!
