Dear Colleagues
I am hoping that you will be able to assist with the following request.
Deakin is currently seeking enthusiastic early career/student information management staff to assist with a repository management/clean up project, and I am hoping that your students or recent graduates might be interested in the opportunity to gain some industry experience and use their developing professional skills in a real world environment.
I've attached the PD for the role.
We are aiming to hire three staff to assist with the project. One staff member will be an immediate start, with the other two joining us from mid February, 2017. It is anticipated that all the roles will end in July 2017.
The positions will be based at our Waterfront campus in Geelong. Due to the nature of the position, it would not be possible for staff to work at another campus.
We are looking for the equivalent of 3 FTE staff - however, this could consist of a number of part time positions, dependent on the negotiated work patterns.
These are casual positions, not fixed term.
Applications should be sent to adelaide.parr at deakin.edu.au. For the immediate start position, applications should be received as soon as possible, as it would be preferable for that role to start before Christmas. For the February start positions, applications should be received by COB Monday 16th January 2017.
Applications should consist of a CV, and a brief response to the Position Description, indicating why the applicant is interested in the role at Deakin and how they feel their skills and experience fit the role. They should also indicate if they are willing to work full time or part time - and if part time, their preferred time fraction.
A brief interview will be undertaken with shortlisted applicants in the week of the 23rd January. This will be at our Waterfront campus.
I would be extremely grateful if you could distribute the PD and the above information across your student networks. We are specifically looking to engage information management students, as we feel this is a perfect opportunity for early career IM professionals to gain some industry experience, and we would like to have staff working on this with a solid information management understanding.
