Subject: [WAIN] Seeking volunteers - Geoff Gallop Braille and Talking Book Library
Hello WAINers!
As well as welcoming prac students, the Dr. Geoff Gallop Braille and
Talking Book Library is looking for volunteers. This would be ideal for
a Library/Records student, or an experienced person interested in
special libraries, as it will give them a chance to work in a very
unique Library setting. We are the largest digital library in the world
which caters soley for people with print disabilities, and we have the
largest Braille Music collection in the southern hemisphere as well as
having fully implemented RDA.
Volunteers will be mainly working with me in digitising analog audio,
producing accessible books and documents to international standards,
helping out with client requests, some work with our catalogue and in
the stacks. Full training is provided and we can work around university
timetables, flexible hours and etc. The Library Assistant (Volunteer
role) JDF is attached. Plus you get to see puppies in the workplace
every day!
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you're interested or have any
questions.
Kind regards,
Frank Flintoff
