We are looking for Records Management students who may be interested in an indexing position within DEC.

 

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

 

Corporate Information Services at the Department of Environment and Conservation is looking for an Indexing Officer for our team working in the Kensington Office.  Below are details of the position:  

 

(1)  The position is full time - 7.5 hours per day with 1/2 hour lunch.

 

(2)  The officer would be working on a roster - hours of 8am - 4pm some days and 9am - 5pm other days.   

 

(3)  Duties of the position include:

 

*	Indexing of correspondence to the correct corporate file. 
*	Registration of correspondence into the Objective recordkeeping system. 
*	Creating files - using a Keyword Thesaurus to establish file titles. 
*	Closing files - using a Retention and Disposal Schedule to apply disposal codes. 
*	Providing client services and answering client enquiries. 
*	Assisting with mail distribution from time to time.   

 

(4)  Essential: Experience in a records management environment and experience in an indexing role.

 

(5)  Preferred: Experience in using the Objective recordkeeping system.

 

Preferred start date ASAP, to be negotiated with CIS. Contract length Mid March to 30 June 2011
