Dear Staff
I urge you to say yes to Question 60 in the census - see below.
Encourage your friends and family to do the same. If we don't, future
generations will not have the joy of finding us on old census records
and a great historic resource will be lost or rendered as a 'terminally
biased sample'.
In fact, you may also wish to discuss this with your students also.
Interestingly research is showing that of all age-groups it is the 18-34
yo who are most likely to opt for 'no' in terms of having their census
records kept which is pretty ironic considering most of them record
their life details on facebook on a regular basis!
Cheers Margaret

________
Census 2011 - Who will they think you were?
Forms are already being distributed for the 2011 Census.
Tuesday 9 August 2011 is Census Night.
The National Archives, Family History organisations and genealogists
will be encouraging the broader community to 'Say Yes to Question 60' so
that their census can be kept for posterity.
Of particular interest in this year of Centenary of Census, is how the
first ever digital census will be managed if participants tick 'Yes to
Question 60'! So log on, get counted, and say YES to 60 so people can
ponder their forebears in the years to come.
