A non-ongoing opportunity exists for an APS 5 TRIM Administrator within the
Records Management Unit, Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet,
Canberra. The position is for a 3 month period from April to June 2009.  The
salary range is: $58,791 to $63,774.

Job Description

This position is located within the Records Management Unit which is a
secure location.  The unit is responsible for the provision of the
Departmental records management framework and services, secure cable
distribution and outgoing mail. The occupant of this position will provide
TRIM system administration and Help Desk services to the department as well
as contribute to the effective management of the department's records and
archives.  A Top Secret clearance is required.


Duty Statement

1. Provide TRIM Help Desk and system administration services for the
department's records management system.  Includes the responsibility for
maintaining error logs, developing test plans, managing upgrades, producing
configuration documentation, and providing training.

2. Support the strategic direction of the department's records management
framework by identifying and implementing enhancements to operational
processes and system functionality.

3. Deal with more complex or sensitive client enquiries, including the
preparation of reports and correspondence relating to transfer of files
resulting from Administrative Arrangement Orders and the transfer and
retrieval of Royal Commission physical material.

4. Undertake project management of contracted staff involved in records
management projects.  Includes quality assurance of work undertaken to
ensure compliance with disposal authorities, legislation, business and
preservation requirements.


Selection Criteria

a. Demonstrated experience in system administration of TRIM Context.

b. Demonstrated knowledge of legislation and standards relating to
Commonwealth recordkeeping and experience in operational records management
practices and procedures, including the ability to apply these within a
records management system.

c. Demonstrated experience in managing projects through effectively managing
priorities, liaising with stakeholders, building productive networks, and
meeting deadlines under limited direction.

d. Well developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills,
including the demonstrated ability to develop and present training material.

e. Demonstrated ability to work co-operatively within a small team.
