Porirua City is nestled in a stunning harbour setting just 20 minutes north of New Zealand’s capital, Wellington. Extending from Kenepuru Drive in the south to Pukerua Bay in the north, from Titahi Bay on the coast to Judgeford in the east, Porirua is a young city with a reputation for energy, creativity and talent.
This is your opportunity to contribute to the ongoing vibrancy and growth of Porirua City. These new roles are available with Porirua City Council as a result of the recent reorganisation of Council’s information team.
We are looking for people who have a passion and enthusiasm for providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
Team Leader Information Support
The purpose of this role is to:
· manage the delivery of information services across the Council,
including records and archives management, mail and bulk photocopying
services.
· develop and implement procedures for the delivery of those services.
· support projects stemming from the Information Management Strategy
· actively contribute to the management and strategic development of
the Information, Administration & Democratic Services team.
· supervise and provide guidance and coaching to the Information
Support Officers.
To be successful in this role you will have a good level of practical records management experience, including an understanding of Council’s
responsibilities under the Public Records Act. You will be able to
identify varying needs and devise new practices and approaches to meet
those needs. A high level of communication and relationship management
skills are required. Previous staff management experience would be an
advantage, as would any experience managing outsourced services.
Information Support Officer
The purpose of this position is to:
· promote and provide appropriate and timely information management
services to external and internal customers.
· ensure Council’s information is created, managed and disposed of
appropriately and in line with regulatory and legislative requirements.
· facilitate access to information, including the distribution of
documents and files throughout the Council.
· contribute to the development, maintenance and review of records and
archive management systems (manual and electronic).
To be successful in this role some previous records management experience is desirable together with an understanding of Council's responsibilities under the Public Records Act. You will have good communication skills and have a reasonable level of computer skills. Familiarity with using an EDRMS would be an benefit. In addition, the role requires an aptitude for bulk document production, mail management.
