The University's Registrar Division is currently seeking a
highly-motivated and self-managed Disposal Officer to assist with the
planning and implementing projects that will ensure the timely disposal
of University records. This is an outstanding opportunity to be gain

developing effective procedures for records disposal processes. You can

A confident communicator with the ability to liaise with a range of
staff at all levels, you will provide routine advice on issues relating
to records retention and destruction. This fast-paced role offers
frequent challenges, and subsequently you will need to be a logical
thinker who can exercise well-developed problem solving skills in order
to provide effective solutions for record disposal. Equally important
will be your proficiency with computerised records management systems,
as you will be called on to document records to TRIM, produce reports
and statistics and assist with the management of inactive repositories. 

To succeed, you will need relevant training or qualifications in records
or information management, coupled with extensive relevant experience
with exposure to disaster recovery. Experience in TRIM records
management software, implementing records disposal programs and
function-based business classifications systems and knowledge of records
management theory and principles will be essential. You will also need a
solid understanding of relevant legislative requirements, standards and
recordkeeping theories, including the NSW State Records Act 1999, the
Australian Standard and International Standards on Records Management,
the NSW Standard on the Physical Storage of State Records and the NSW
General Disposal Authorities.

The position is full-time continuing, subject to the completion of a
satisfactory probation period for new appointees. Membership of a
University approved superannuation scheme is a condition of employment
for new appointees. Appointment of the preferred applicant is subject to
a satisfactory health assessment.

Remuneration package: $60,660 - $67,969 p.a. (which includes a base
salary Level 5 $51,258 - $57,435 p.a., leave loading and up to 17%
employer's contribution to superannuation).
