The position of project archivist is being re-advertised; please note
that the position will be based at the UMA repository in Brunswick, and
occasionally at the Parkville campus.

PROJECT ARCHIVIST - INTEGRATED ARCHIVAL
Position no.:0018258
Employment type:Part-time Fixed Term
Information Management, Information Services
Salary: $55,771 - $60,371 p.a (HEW 6)
Superannuation: Employer contributions of 9% Employment Type: This is a
part-time (0.8 FTE) fixed-term position available for 12 months. 

The UMA is responsible for the collection, maintenance and use of the
historical records of the University of Melbourne, business and labour
organisations/related individuals, and professional bodies/associations.
The incumbent takes responsibility for management and coordination of
the Integrated Archival Management Access System. In this position, the
Project Archivist will Address two major issues: 

* the conversion and adaptation of software currently utilized to manage
University records (TRIM) to manage University archives; and

* the need for conversion of the intellectual control of UMA records
from an accessioning based system to a professional archival descriptive
system (the "Series System").
