One down, two to go in our Community Psychology Large Scale Change series - don't miss the remaining happenings tomorrow evening (Thursday) and next Tuesday - and remember that if you can't join one of these events live, you can catch the recording for up to 90 days afterwards - BUT only if you've registered beforehand on the link(s) above! If your work brings you into contact with people who've experienced trauma and are dealing with multiple impacts like housing insecurity or mental ill-health, the Thursday session on responding to homelessness and the following Tuesday on fixing the mental health systems will be particularly relevant.
Dear All,
We are thrilled to invite you to our Large Scale Change series of online workshops this month. They are specifically designed for community psychologists and others who want to make a big change and/or work in areas of most need. The booking details are below.
1. HOW CAN WE HELP END HOMELESSNESS? Thursday October 17 7 – 8.30 PM AEDT
Dr Kathryn Taylor, winner of the 2023 Robin Winkler Award for outstanding research in community psychology, will discuss the best trauma informed approaches to working with homelessness. This is a critical skill for those of us working with clients who have trauma histories and/or live in poverty. She will also address how psychologists can help end homelessness in Australia.

1. HOW CAN WE CHANGE THE MENTAL HEALTH SYSTEM? Tuesday October 22 7 – 8.30 PM AEDT
Professor Helen Herrman, former President of the World Psychiatry Society AND International Women’s Mental Health Association, co-authored a highly influential Lancet article last year calling for the transformation of the mental health system. We are so honoured that she agreed to speak to community psychologists and allies about how we can transform from biomedical mental health services to a biopsychosocial mental health system. You’ll have the opportunity to share your ideas and ask her questions directly during the session.
Please book here:

Please forward this onto others who may be interested.
We can’t wait to see you in the workshops!
