Dear All,

We are thrilled to invite you to our Large Scale Change series of online workshops this month. They are specifically designed for community psychologists and others who want to make a big change and/or work in areas of most need. The booking details are below.

  1. HOW CAN WE CHANGE BEHAVIOUR AT A LARGE SCALE? Tuesday October 15 7 – 8.30 PM AEDT

Professor Liam Smith, founder of BehaviourWorks and lead author of Inspiring Change, outlines a scientific approach used to stimulate and measure large scale behavioural change that BehaviourWorks have used across many topics, such as climate change, public health and social inclusion. BehaviourWorks were at the heart of helping governments inspire positive behaviour during the COVID19 pandemic. He will share his tips on applying this method to any topic that you love.

  1. HOW CAN WE HELP END HOMELESSNESS? Thursday October 17 7 – 8.30 PM AEDT

Dr Kathryn Taylor, winner of the 2023 Robin Winkler Award for outstanding research in community psychology, will discuss the best trauma informed approaches to working with homelessness. This is a critical skill for those of us working with clients who have trauma histories and/or live in poverty. She will also address how psychologists can help end homelessness in Australia.

  1. HOW CAN WE CHANGE THE MENTAL HEALTH SYSTEM? Tuesday October 22 7 – 8.30 PM AEDT

Professor Helen Herrman, former President of the World Psychiatry Society AND International Women’s Mental Health Association, co-authored a highly influential Lancet article last year calling for the transformation of the mental health system. We are so honoured that she agreed to speak to community psychologists and allies about how we can transform from biomedical mental health services to a biopsychosocial mental health system. You’ll have the opportunity to share your ideas and ask her questions directly during the session.
