Women’s Health East is currently accepting applications for a Health Promotion Manager, with the deadline extended to 11th February, 2018. WHE is a dynamic women’s health promotion agency based in Doncaster East working across the Eastern Metropolitan Region of Melbourne. Our vision is the equality, empowerment, health and wellbeing for all women. Our priorities are to advance gender equality, prevent violence against women, and improve women’s sexual and reproductive health. And we're looking for new team members!

The HP Manager (HPM) is a member of Women’s Health East’s Management Team and plays a key strategic role in the organisation. The position has the following components:

  *    Actively contribute to the achievement of WHE’s strategic and operational goals
  *   Develop and maintain strategic partnerships
  *   Lead and manage the health promotion team
  *    Provide leadership and support to partner organisations in gendered health promotion

The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence (16 Days) is a global campaign to raise awareness about violence against women and its impact on a woman’s physical, psychological, social and spiritual well-being. The 16 Days begin on 25th November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women<https://www.un.org/en/events/endviolenceday/>, and end on December 10th, International Human Rights Day<http://www.un.org/en/events/humanrightsday/>. These dates were chosen to highlight that violence against women is a human rights abuse.
