Dear Researchers 

I wish to draw your attention to the following:

AIATSIS is seeking expressions of interest (EOIs) to undertake a consultancy project aimed at assisting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people working in the health sector to obtain skills in statistics - data collection, management, analysis, interpretation and use - and establishing sustainable networks to facilitate and strengthen the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander statistical workforce.

This will include an assessment of the current status, and recommendations for improvements in the future. A detailed description of the project is in the attached brief.

The project is to commence in late February 2008 and be completed by mid-year. Deliverables will be a draft report, for review by the project management committee, and a final report incorporating comments one month later. 

EOIs should include a brief description of the proposed approach (no more than two pages) and a brief cv for the principal researcher(s) describing relevant experience, and be delivered to AIATSIS by 10.00am on Monday 18 February.  E-mail delivery will be accepted.

We anticipate that the consultancy fee will be $80,000 ex-GST, plus expenses to be agreed.
