Hello all students

Ever wondered how what you’re learning in information studies today will shape your career tomorrow?

In 2026, we’re launching something new at Curtin’s Information Science Group: LARIS Talk Series: From Study to Profession.

This eight-part online seminar series (monthly, one hour), led by Leisa Gibbons<https://www.linkedin.com/in/leisagibbons/> and Ellie Abdi<https://www.linkedin.com/in/ellie-abdi-10338729/> (Lead of Curtin's Information Science Group), is designed to help information studies students, alumni and prospective students visualise their future - and position themselves with confidence in the information profession.

Hosted by LARIS staff and featuring diverse industry voices, the series creates space for:

- Professional identity formation
- Honest conversations about career realities
- Emerging trends shaping libraries, archives and records
- Community building across career stages

We kick off in March with a session on Artificial Intelligence and the changing nature of professional practice - a timely and important conversation for anyone in our field.

Already curious? Find out more about the first session, meet our speakers, and register here:
