Dear LARIS students

The Edna Maskell Scholarship is now open for applications and is due to close on 5 March 2025. See the Scholarships page: https://www.curtin.edu.au/study/scholarships/ for more information and the application form (which is not onerous).

About the Scholarship
The late Mrs Edna Maskell, widow of a former Curtin staff member, generously established the Edna Maskell Scholarship through a bequest to the University. The Scholarship supports students enrolled in a postgraduate course in Libraries, Archives, Records and Information Science, to enable professional development opportunities (e.g. industry conference, workshops etc) that will enhance their studies and increase their opportunities after graduation. It can also be used for costs associated with practicum placements.

The Scholarship provides a one-off cash payment of $3,000. It can be used at the recipient's discretion to contribute towards travel, accommodation, conference/workshop registration etc. For example, a previous recipient has used the scholarship to carry out their practicum placement at a location significantly distant to their home and another has presented at and attended an international conference held in their home state.

All enrolled LARIS students are eligible to apply for the scholarship but must have completed at least 75 credits of their current course of study at the time of application.

Please consider applying if you are eligible!
Best wishes
Gaby
