Main Roads WA is seeking candidates to apply as a Casual Librarian for an initial 6 months with an optional 6 month extension and possibility of permanency to manage their Special Library.

The key focus of the Special Library is to provide strategically relevant leading edge road construction and transport resources for research purposes.

Contract Role
•       Manage the library collection including administration of contracts for information resources, software and electronic products.
•       Procure information resources such as journals, magazines, publications, national and international standards in hardcopy and digital format.
•       Co-ordinate budgeting and financial management of library operations and associated services.
•       Administer access to global road transport libraries, databases (23), authorities and information resources.
•       Maintain resources in the Main Roads' Library Catalogue for use across Main Roads.
•       Maintain the Library System and capture information resources in accordance with AACR2/RDA international cataloguing standards.
•       Provide an efficient online digital research and reference service to customers.
•       Maintain an effective inter-library loans system and provision of advice on document delivery to staff and other State based Special libraries.
•       Provide advice, central guidance and 'best practice' support on resource availability, access and research methods to customers.
•       Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and service providers concerning procurement of library materials and associated services.
Essential:
•       Experience maintaining Library operational practices and delivery of services
•       Library collection management, cataloguing and administration of contracts for information resources
•       Use of Library system software – DB Textworks and Web Publisher or similar library software
•       Degree in Library and Information studies
