We are seeking a suitably experienced information management candidate for a short-term vacancy at the Department of Justice working within the Information Release and Litigation Management team. The Assistant Information Release Officer is responsible for the manual production and internal distribution of criminal history reports from the Western Australia Police Force Frontline Incident Management System (IMS)  Database.

Consequently, this role requires a Western Australia Police Force security clearance as the successful candidate will be accessing the IMS Database.

Salary: Level 1, PS CSA Agreement 2022,  $60, 190 per annum

Location: Gordon Stephenson House - 140 William St Perth

This temporary role is available for 6 months, commencing as soon as possible, with the possibility of extension for a further six months based on operational needs.

Role specific responsibilities include:


  *   Assessing and answering requests from Departmental staff for access to criminal history information.
  *   Conducting searches using the internal and external Records Systems.
  *   Producing criminal history reports and distributing those reports internally.
  *   Assists with producing interstate criminal history reports through the Western Australia Police Force.
  *   Answering prisoner location enquiries via phone, email and an internet portal.

If you have an eye for detail, can work accurately with numbers to achieve tasks and sound Microsoft suite skills then this position will be a great opportunity to gain experience in the release of information in a public sector environment.
