About the role:
Reporting to the Team Leader for Record and Compliance, the Support Officer role is responsible for the delivery of efficient and effective records end of life services and document and records management services to meet the Corporation's business needs.
What the role will involve:
* Responds to client enquiries efficiently and/or appropriately refers the enquiry.
* Responsible for routine and project end of life processing of inactive physical and electronic information, in line with approved retention & disposal schedules and other legislation for Metro and Regional areas.
* Provides quality assurance checks on offsite storage databases metadata.
* Provides quality assurance checks and fixes on items metadata in the Enterprise Content Management System ECMS.
* Liaise with the business to ensure content is captured in accordance to guidelines and policy with correct naming conventions and retention periods assigned.
* Provides back-up to the Officer Records Management (Lvl 3), ensuring the correct application of records indexing and classification standards are applied.
* Assists in carrying out correct digitisation processes.
Key skills and experience:
* Demonstrate good computing skills, is able to use the Microsoft suite of systems and can demonstrate the capability to learn and apply the Corporations suite of business and technical; computing applications
* Relevant experience with enterprise Records/Document Management systems OpenText (Hummingbird) or OpenText (Content Server) desirable but not mandatory.
* Considerable experience in Indexing and Classification of information using the General Disposal Authority for State Government Information DA 2013-017.
* Considerable experience in 'End of Life' Records Processing. Knowledge and understanding of relevant RM/DM Legislation and Standards.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Demonstrated understanding and application of State Records Act information principles
