The Soroptimist International of Western Australia (SIWA) is running a public speaking competition across universities in Western Australia.

Soroptimist International (SI) is a global volunteer organisation advocating for human rights and gender equality and working on projects that help women and girls achieve their individual and collective potential, realise aspirations and have an equal voice in communities worldwide. The public speaking competition is one such project.

It is open to any female studying at a university in Western Australia and provides a platform for women to discuss something important to them and showcase their vision for a better future.

A Round 1 competition will be held at each of the universities with a prize of $250  for the winner from each campus.  The grand final winner will receive a prize of $500.

The competition at Curtin will be held on Wednesday 21 April at 6.00 pm with the grand final being held at Notre Dame University on Saturday 8 May.
