[MCASIlaris] COVID-19: practicum placements

[MCASI Practicum Program]

Dear students



Thank you to those who have submitted the required practicum documentation.



In this period of rapid change and uncertainty around COVID-19 I will continue to process practicum applications and work to approach organisations to see if I can pencil in the usual mid-year pracs, for those requesting/requiring this time period, however, most definitely with the understanding that the dates may have to shift. As you can appreciate there are many factors to consider from a host perspective, your perspective and from the University too. Realistically, the impact of COVID-19 may mean completing a placement much further into 2020, such as November or over summer, into early 2021. For some this may impact graduation.



Please be assured I am working very hard and will continue to do so, to see what might be possible. Already a number of industry partners have reached out to ask that I do not approach for a period of time. I am also in the process of working with the University to discuss the postponement of practicums with the accrediting bodies.
