Subject: [WAIN] Short-term opportunities at State Library

The State Library has capacity to offer support to some experienced library staff whose roles have been affected by COVID-19, by bringing them in on short, fixed-term contracts until 30 June 2020. Our priority is to assist staff who have been stood down for a period of time while their library service has closed.

There are various positions that can be filled on a part-time or full-time basis. These short-term contracts will assist the State Library to continue its services to the community during the period of isolation and restrictions on services and public gatherings. This will involve some core services such as membership, reference enquiries, data clean-up and cataloguing, as well as support for services developed for the COVID-19 period such as a public internet service, digitisation on demand and mystery boxes. There will be no option for staff to work from home, so applicants must be prepared to work in the State Library building.

Attached are two sample JDFs for Library Officer (L1) and Librarian (SCL1) roles. To apply, please send a short EOI of no more than one page outlining the current position you hold in your library, whether it is part-time or full-time, along with the skills and experience you can bring to either of the above roles.
