Dear Qld based students

Please note this upcoming event. Colleague Joanna Sassoon says “this is highly recommended for Queensland based students as it will introduce students to some conservation and preservation issues and reinforce them for those who have already done that unit.”

Come join us at Queensland State Archives on 18 May 2017 from 9 am to 4.30 pm for our free one day workshop on disaster recovery.

This workshop is just for members of the public and demonstrates how best to salvage documents after a disaster. Prepare to get wet and messy with a simulated disaster scenario – so no fancy clothes! Sturdy, closed in shoes are a must and the practical component will require a moderate level of mobility.

This workshop is only open to individual members of the public, with a maximum of 30 places available. Preservation Australia will start with some lecture style instruction, but then things start to get very hands on!

Light refreshments will be provided.

Places are limited, so only individual bookings will be accepted, no group bookings. We are also trialling the exciting Beam Pro technology and will be offering ONE workshop participant the opportunity to attend remotely, using our robotic stand-in.

Please go to Eventbrite<https://www.vision6.com.au/ch/40791/1dw24/2344020/6eca67h1j.html> to book your ticket for this great event.
