Hi,

Further to the email I sent out last week about the “Let’s Talk Melbourne” event on 21 September, the professionals who will be present have been announced. They are:
Meet and hear from industry professionals:
Jacinta Cloney, Library Systems Consultant OCLC
Heather McKay, Local History Librarian Melbourne Library Service
Hayley Webster, Library Manager Museum Victoria
Julie Reichstein, Librarian / Information Manager Jewish Holocaust Centre Inc
Anna Clatworthy, Digital Collections Librarian RMIT
Justine Hanna and Hugh Rundle from the New Cardigans
Ken Harris, Coordinator Technology & Innovation Melbourne Library Service

I would encourage all students who are able to get along to this to go along. Just to remind you, here are the rest of the details:

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

After previous very successful ‘Let’s Talk’ events sponsored Melbourne City Library service the event is on again this year.
As a reminder this is a chance for all LIS students from all our universities and colleges to get together and ‘Talk’ , network and all get some professional development. Aimed particularly at Distance students but open to all current Library and Information Studies we hope to encourage them to join us again this year.

This year we are doing this a little differently with a ‘round robin’ of experts from a variety of information backgrounds providing the students with an opportunity to find out about their career trajectories, what it is like to work in their area of expertise and the essential skills and knowledge they need to develop and sustain their career.

I would also of course like to invite and encourage you and any other of your fellow staff members based in Melbourne to join us. A great chance for us to meet up with each other too.

I am hoping you will again assist in distributing this invitation to your students who may be in Melbourne and any staff who may be able to attend. It is great not just for the students to meet up but us as well! Invitation and details below
Mary
