LIBRARY & HERITAGE ASSISTANT
Part-time 52hrs fortnight
$52,045 - $63,061 pa pro rata

The Ruth Faulkner Library offers a wide range of library and heritage services and programmes for our diverse and developing community and due to an internal promotion, we have an opportunity available for an individual who wants to join our customer-focused and enthusiastic Library and Heritage team on a permanent, part time basis!

This position is a general Library & Heritage Assistant role, where you will be expected to work as part of a team to provide an efficient and effective library and heritage service to our diverse community.

Duties include:

*         Counter duties such as borrower enrolments, issues, returns and reservations of library material.

*         Attending to public enquiries.

*         Shelving and display of library materials.

*         Assisting with processing and repairing of stock.

*         Assisting with various activities arranged and organised within the library.

*         Undertaking basic cataloguing and processing of local stock.

*         Use of the Library Management system, interlibrary loans and reservation modules.

To be successful in this role you will need good interpersonal skills and have a proven ability to communicate with a wide range of people and groups.  A keen eye for detail and proven organisational skills are also essential and previous relevant experience working within a library is desirable.

Hours of work in this position are generally between 8:00am and 8:30pm, Monday to Thursday, 8:00am and 5:00pm on Friday's and 8:00am and 12:30pm on Saturday's, as rostered. Please note, there is also an with an expectation of being available to work reasonable additional hours as required up to full time equivalent, to provide leave relief.
