SPECIALIST LIBRARIAN - PROJECTS
$69,051 - $72,895 pa

Planning has commenced for the City's brand new library and with it an exciting opportunity is available as this recently re-vamped position will play an important part in the development of new spaces and programmes within the building!

If you have a passion for working within libraries, and in particular providing innovative and engaging programmes and events to the community, this could be the position for you.  As the Specialist Librarian - Projects you will supervise two direct reports and, in consultation with the Coordinator Library and Heritage Services will develop, implement and review programmes and services, displays and promotional activities, in particular for the provision of literacy programmes.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

*         Providing specialist advice to various groups on youth library services

*         Liaising with local educational and relevant community organisations to establish cooperative and targeted programmes to improve literacy levels in the community

*         Providing reports of progress against planned activities and programmes

*         Reviewing and assessing community needs in relation to library services for young people

*         Developing and maintaining a calendar of planned programmes

*         Coordinating and actively participating in the delivery of programmes and special events in accordance with the City's risk management protocols

*         Overseeing the marketing and promotion of library services

To be successful in this role you will require previous relevant experience working in a library and in particular, in the provision of services to young people and a demonstrated understanding of the operations and requirements of the SLWA.  In addition, a high level of interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with a wide range of people and groups is also required.
