Please take note of the awards below, even if not for this year, it is important to be informed and to plan ahead as you move into the profession.

The awards are usually presented during Library and Information Week, which falls 23-29 May 2016. Watch out for the email about the presentations and come along!

Just a reminder that entries for the following awards close on Friday 8 April.

Library Board of WA Award for Excellence

Nominations are now called for the Library Board of Western Australia Award for Excellence and the Kay Poustie Scholarship.

The Award for Excellence is intended to recognize a particular service, event, program, piece of research or partnership completed within the last two years by any person, library or organisation in Western Australia.

The award is a valuable opportunity for library practitioners to receive recognition for their achievements in the field of library practice.  The winner will be announced at an event in Library and Information Week at the State Library of Western Australia in May 2016, and will receive $5,000 prize money.

Entries close on Friday 8 April 2016.

Kay Poustie Scholarship

Applications are now called for the 2016 Kay Poustie Scholarship Travel Grant.

A scholarship travel grant of up to $5,000 is available for a library professional in Western Australia. The Scholarship can be used to travel overseas to explore ideas and initiatives of relevance that could potentially be applied to the WA public library network or to attend a professional international conference overseas e.g. IFLA.

The closing date for applications is 5:00pm Friday 8 April 2016.

The Kay Poustie OAM Scholarship is an initiative of the State Library of WA Foundation.
