Subject: [WAIN] Reminder: ALIAWest Abstract Writing Workshop 5 April

The ALIAWest Committee would like to invite you to join us at our next event:

Abstract Writing Workshop

Thinking of writing a professional abstract for a presentation, conference paper or interesting project? But don’t know where to start? Then this workshop is for you!

Learn how you can take a great idea or interesting project you are currently working on and share it with the world. This session will work through how you can transform a great idea you have into a presentation, conference paper or journal article. Starting with preparing the abstract, then translating the abstract into a paper or presentation. Hear from library professionals who have gone through this process, and perhaps even attempt to prepare a short abstract during the session. The guest speakers will be happy to provide some valuable feedback on your abstract writing attempts.

Speakers:

• Helen Balfour (Cambridge Library)

• Gaby Haddow (Curtin University)

• David Wells (Curtin University)

• Kathryn Greenhill (Curtin University)

When: Tuesday, 5th April 2016

Time: 5.30pm for 6pm start

Venue: Great Southern Room (State Library of WA)

Cost: $10 (ALIA members), $15 (Non-members), Gold coin donation (Students)

Refreshments will be available.

**Please note that photos will be taken at this event for use on the ALIA web sites, social media sites, marketing materials and other publications. By entering this event, you consent to ALIAWest photographing and using your image and likeness.
