Dear Students,

FYI this opportunity to volunteer at the upcoming ASA Conference at Hobart.
Note the volunteers are provided with “free registration to the Hobart conference including lunches, morning tea and afternoon tea”.

I will be presenting and attending this conference and be assured of having company in Hobart.

This is a good way to contribute and meet your future employers.

Subject: Australian Society of Archivists - Hobart Conference - Student Volunteer Opportunities

Dear Colleagues.

The ASA is seeking student volunteers to assist with conference management at our conference in Hobart between the 18th and 21st August.

We are looking for students who fall into one of the following groups:

Archives stream:

Preference will be given to current students enrolled at an Australian Higher Education institution in a course accredited by the ASA
However, students enrolled at an Australian Higher Education institution in a course directly related to archives or other information management disciplines are also be encouraged to apply.
Local stream:

Students enrolled at a Tasmanian Higher Education institution in a discipline where use of archives and/or the effective management of information is part of, or complements the study of that discipline – for example History, Australian Studies, Women’s Studies, Cultural Services, Museum Studies, English, Business Management or Information Technology.

As your courses fall into one of these two categories, I would like to invite your students to apply for one of these volunteer positions, and hope that you are able to circulate this opportunity to them. Applications should be submitted by email before COB on Friday, 20th June.

Please note that there is no restriction as to the type of course that the student is currently undertaking if it fulfils the above requirements. If you know of courses that are offered by your institution that do fulfil the requirements, but whose course coordinators are not in the email list above, please feel free to forward this email to them.

There's more information about these volunteer positions, and how to apply at:

Thank you for your help with this. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me.
Regards

Adelaide
