Just a reminder about the face to face meetup tomorrow. Please let me know by the end of today if you are coming, if you have not already RSVPd. We are looking at about 20 people so far.
Makerspace tour at 9am. Meeting for coffee afterward in the library coffee shop. It is not really the type of event that can be broadcast, so we will not be live streaming it.
Please meet opposite the Information Desk. A couple of people have said that they may be a little late. I will leave information at the desk about where we will be, so please ask the staff there.
Cheers,
Kathryn
Hi,
Want to put some faces to those names you see on Blackboard? Like coffee/tea/hot chocolate? Want to find out about how Curtin University library is stimulating creativity in the university?
All Department of Information Studies students (Internal, Online only, OUA, undergraduate, postgraduate) are invited to a face to face meetup on Campus on Tuesday 18 August 9 - 10:30 am. Available departmental staff will also be there.
Meet opposite the Information Desk at Curtin Library at 9am. Please RSVP to k.greenhill at curtin.edu.au<mailto:k.greenhill at curtin.edu.au> by Monday 17 August so we have an idea of numbers.
We will start with a visit to the Curtin library Pop-up Makerspace and hear from Karen Miller, Learning Services Coordinator about what it is offering, why they are doing it in an academic library and the challenges and opportunities involved. After about 45 minutes we will move on to the library coffee shop to meet and mingle.
Here is some more information about the Makerspace.
