Subject: [WAIN] ALIA WA Symposium: save the date and call for proposals
Dear colleagues,
On behalf of the ALIA New Graduates Group, the ALIA WA Library Technicians Group and ALIAWest, I am pleased to announce the ALIA WA Symposium, which will take place on Saturday June 28th at the State Library of Western Australia.
This full day PD event is modelled on ALIA Qld's Mini-Conference<http://aliaqld.blogspot.com.au/p/blog-page.html>, but is targeted at all library workers in Western Australia. The theme is "Collaborate. Co-operate. Communicate."
We invite you to submit a proposal for a 20 or 40 minute session by Monday 28th April at http://bit.ly/aliawas-form. We would love to hear about:
* An innovative programme you have developed and delivered
* The results of your Masters or PhD research project
* Issues facing the library industry as a whole
Sessions may take the form of a:
* Solo or group presentation
* Panel discussion (you must arrange panelists yourself)
* Participatory activity
Not sure how to turn your work into a session proposal? Come along to ALIAWest’s “Librarians as researchers” event<http://aliawestbiblia.blogspot.com.au/2014/03/librarians-as-researchers.html> and hear from others who have gone through the process.
Regards,
Matthias Liffers
Convenor
