Dear Colleagues,

The Careers & Employment Centre invites you to the 2014 Work Ready Careers Fair:
Date: Wednesday 13th August, 2014

Time: 11am - 2pm

Venue: Curtin Stadium, Building 111

The Fair will see organisations from various industries and the not-for-profit sector on campus to promote:

* vacation work, internships, work experience placements and volunteering opportunities

* part time, casual and graduate employment opportunities

The Fair is for students from ALL years of study. From first years seeking to get their foot in the door with industry experience through to senior students looking to take their degree a step further. Of course, many employers also use Vacation Programs (offered to penultimate year students) as a means of finding students for their graduate programs.
In addition to the main exhibition area, students are encouraged to visit:

1. Work Ready Zone: Students are encouraged to bring hard copies of their resume along for review by our industry representatives and experienced Careers Consultants. Feedback will be provided on the spot and any work-related questions are also welcomed. Students unable to attend the zone are encouraged to submit their resumes and cover letters via Careerhub for individual feedback and assistance. Information available at:

http://life.curtin.edu.au/careers/resumes.htm

2. Careers Skills Workshops: Our Career Development Consultants will be delivering 'bite size' interactive skills development workshops to attendees on a variety of topics relating to careers and employment. These 15 minute sessions will help attendees develop their Job Hunting and Networking skills, as well as provide details on how to develop their personal brand and the importance of a strong 'LinkedIn' profile.

3. Engage: Get useful information on how to start your own business or how to enhance your current one - meet representatives from the Small Business Development Corporation and the Curtin Centre for Entrepreneurship.

Highlighting the nature of continuous recruitment to our students is essential and we are keen to work with you and your students to raise awareness of all opportunities and possibilities.

The Careers & Employment Centre encourages you to promote this event within your portfolios. We look forward to seeing you and your students at this main campus event.

Kind Regards
