Subject: [Hum-DIS] Masters of Information Management - course changes 2015
Dear students
As from 2015 government mandated changes will be made to the Masters of Information Management offered by Curtin University, Department of Information Studies. As a result of these changes the course will become two years full-time (i.e. four semesters), as opposed to the current eighteen months full-time (three semesters). Obviously this will also impact upon the cost of competing the degree.
Currently enrolled students will be unaffected as they will complete the current version of the MIM. Those who enrol prior to mid-2014 will also be enrolled in the current MIM. There is therefore a 'window of opportunity' remaining for those who wish to upgrade their qualifications under the conditions of the current degree which require another one semester of study rather than two. This applies to those who have already completed a Graduate Diploma (in with either librarianship or records management and archives), or those who are currently enrolled in one of these graduate diplomas.
Please feel free to share this information with other graduates or students.
If you have any queries about this please contact the Post-graduate Course Coordinator, Dr Pauline Joseph at p.joseph at curtin.edu.au<mailto:p.joseph at curtin.edu.au>
Regards
Paul
