This one day conference is informal and smaller than the large ALIA conferences. If you are interested in research it is a great opportunity to hear about what is going on around Australia and meet colleagues.  This year it is being held in Melbourne at RMIT University.

RAILS (Research Applications in Library and Information Studies) brings together educators, researchers and practitioners within the information professions to enable a culture of informed and innovative research practice. All members of the information profession - libraries, archives, information and knowledge management, records, schools, museums are invited to come and share their ideas and work with others.

Program available soon but includes an address by Sue Roberts, Victoria's State Librarian. RAILS is being held the day after the Australian Information Educators Symposium (AIES) and the ALIA Higher Educators' Forum - DISCOUNT rate available for registering to attend both RAILS & AIES
