The Department of the Senate is seeking a Records Officer to provide advice
and administrative assistance in relation to records management activities.
This function sits within the Human Resource Management section. The
successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining information in
TRIM, the department's records management system, and for delivering
services including the creation, retrieval, transfer and sentencing of files
as requested.
The Records Officer will also contribute to the development of support
documents on records management activities, for reporting on records
management activities and will be the primary contact for liaising with
National Archives of Australia. Other tasks including planning and
completing the annual file census and supporting other areas of the Human
Resource Management section, as required.
To be successful in this position the occupant must possess high-level
administrative skills, have attention to detail and well-developed
interpersonal skills. The ability to apply tact and discretion is also
essential in this position.
The position will be offered either as a non-ongoing basis for up to 12
months, or on an ongoing basis depending on, among other things, the skills
and abilities of the successful applicant.
