Duties and responsibilities

• Development, management, implementation and monitoring of a decentralised records management program to meet the obligations of the Archives Act 1983, and in the National Archives of Australian (NAA) recordkeeping framework, including new implementation timeframes as they arise.
• Development and maintenance of policies, procedures, business classification scheme, regular auditing of the records management program, and the safe storage and security of ANSTO’s records in environmentally sound conditions.
• Providing professional advice on the recordkeeping requirements for evidence across a wide range of mediums to ensure the appropriate storage in accordance with NAA requirements, long term preservation of evidence, assessment of risk and the ability to support the continuation of business operations in the event of a disaster.
• Develop and coordinate the change management strategy required to change the records management culture through delivery of projects, training and marketing programs.
• Oversighting the offsite storage of records with National Archives of Australia and other external storage providers.
• Maintain an ongoing review of ANSTO’s retention authority, and monitor and apply changes to disposal authorities to the records management system.
• Apply best practice in archives management by identifying, culling, appraising, and disposing of records in accordance with approved disposal schedules, and oversighting this process in a devolved environment within ANSTO.
• Participate in Knowledge Centre meetings and maintain the responsibilities of the Knowledge Centre Information Desk when required, and undertake additional duties outside key responsibilities to assist with maintaining library services during periods of high demand and absences of other staff.
• Fulfil OHSE responsibilities as specified in AG-2362 of the ANSTO OHSE system.
