*Paid Practical Work Experience - Legislative Council, Parliament House *

The Legislative Council is currently running a project to recall its
archived records from their current storage, and to:

- ensure they are on the new eDRMS system properly

- ensure the records are stored in accordance with SRO standards
(removal of inappropriate plastics, metals, sticky notes etc)

- assessed in accordance with GDAs and the Legislative Council
R&DS and separated for destruction, to be sent to State Records Office in
future, or to be kept by the Legislative Council permanently; and

- reboxed in National Archive quality boxes.

Although the work is unrelenting in nature, the records are interesting,
mainly being the inquiry records of Parliamentary Committees. Work is
located in West Perth and negotiable for at least two days per week over
the University summer semester break with the possibility of ongoing
employment till mid-2013.

Applicants should demonstrate:

- initiative and ‘self starter’ aptitude

- ability to work independently and in a team

- broad and demonstrable IT experience including use of databases
(preferably Lotus Notes), Word, and an eDRMS

- methodical approach to work.

Please forward resumes of no more than two pages to
kalcock at parliament.wa.gov.au by COB 5 November 2012.
