What are your plans for the last week in August 2012? Are you attending the International Council on Archives (ICA) Congress and then travelling in Australia or New Zealand (Australasia) afterwards and want to engage with local records and information management (RIM) communities?



Are you "local" (travelling to or living in) Melbourne, Perth or Wellington and want to hear what our international and Australasian colleagues are working on or researching with RIM?



Here is your chance to engage with the rich diversity of ideas and practical experience of our travelling RIM colleagues from USA, Canada, Scotland, Sweden, Belgium, and Australia and New Zealand. We can all learn from each other, so we need to make the most of the opportunities that having the ICA Congress "down under" offers.



Three multi-stream seminars cover a theme we all  "grapple" with every day:  Getting the connections between records and information management (RIM), Information Technology and business imperatives right. Topics all relate to current records and information management and include digital records management, risks of disengagement with recordkeeping, issues with open government, benchmarking, transition to digital records in courts/ tribunals, RIM/ICT futures, the impact of 'Wikileaks', recordkeeping and information management roles, and links between corporate social responsibility and recordkeeping.
