Just to let you know in advance that we are now embarking on our 3rd  round of a Library Professional Cadetship program in 2012 (2 positions on offer) that will run for 2 years.

The recruitment advertisement will open on the 23 January, 2012 and close 5 February, 2011 at the following websites:

Dear 2012 Students,

Are you studying postgraduate qualifications in librarianship this year?

If so, you may be interested in a 'Library Professional Cadet' position with The University of Melbourne Library (2 positions available).

The cadetships offers a full time position (fixed term) for up to 2 years.

During this time, cadets will gain a broad range of professional experience through placements and rotations while undertaking part time study in librarianship.

We are recruiting cadets with a recent and relevant undergraduate degree in a discipline other than Library and Information Studies. Preference will be given to applications with degrees in Business and Economics and Arts. However applicants with degrees in other disciplines may also apply. Cadets must be committed to a career in librarianship and must be enrolled to commence in, or be seeking enrolment in, a recognised postgraduate library and information course.
