ELECTRONIC WASTE COLLECTION 2011
FOR CURTIN STAFF AND STUDENTS
NEXT WEEK
TUESDAY OCTOBER 4 AND WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 5
8 AM - 5 PM
Another chance to bring your old electronic goods from home that are of no use to you. Collection site is once again Car Park 9B (near building 212). There is good vehicle access. You can drive right up to the collection point and we will help you unload. Collection times are 8 am and 5 pm, Tuesday October 4 and Wednesday October 5. The Office of Environmental Sustainability will send the items to a Perth based electronic waste recycler. There will be NO COST to you. Look for the 'Recycle Here' banners.
If your goods are still working you may want to give them away to a good cause rather than bring them for recycling. There is the possibility that computer equipment will be refurbished for on-selling. Please ask about this when you drop off your old computer.
ü ACCEPTED ITEMS
Audiovisual equipment, televisions, computers, computer monitors and accessories, computer discs, video and music discs, desk top printers, fax machines, mobile phones, games, scanners, printers, cameras, small kitchen appliances, hand held power tools, small household batteries.
Generally if it uses electricity and it is easily lifted by hand it can be accepted. Please call Nathan if you wish to ask about a specific item.
û Items NOT accepted
Car batteries, any lead acid batteries, white goods, large electric kitchen appliances, oil filled heaters, large workshop tools, CRT monitors or televisions with broken screen, smoke detectors, light globes.
Curtin-owned equipment, computers or mobile phones will not be accepted. Please contact your administration area/CITS Technician for proper disposal of these University assets.
Please also note the collection is intended for Curtin University staff and students only.
A Greencampus initiative brought to you by The Office of Environmental Sustainability.
