Hi everyone,

Since launching the ALIA NewGrads resume review service, I've been asked
a few questions about it. I thought that I would share the answers with
everyone:


I graduated in 200X, do I still count as a new graduate?

Most certainly! You do not need to be a newly-minted librarian or
library technician to take advantage of this service. Anybody in the
early stages of their library career are more than welcome to send their
resume in.


When is the cut-off date to send my resume in?

There is no cut-off date! I'm hoping that this will be an ongoing
service for as long as I have willing volunteer reviewers.


Why aren't you charging anything?

I remember what it was like to be a new graduate, looking for my first
professional gig, and barely being able to cover the rent and other
living expenses.


Thanks for the help with my resume, what about addressing selection
criteria?

Watch this space! Tamara Capper, my fellow WA Regional Co-ordinator, and
I are in the process of organising something for you.


I don't live in WA, can I still send my resume in?

Unfortunately, I only have enough reviewers to service new graduates in
Western Australia. Contact your local ALIA New Graduates Group
representative
