Diocesan Archivist

Part Time 22.5 hours per week

(Flexible days and times)

 

An opportunity as a part time archivist to join the Anglican Diocese of
Perth is now available.  Initially located in the CBD then moving to
historic Swanleigh site in Middle Swan, mid to late 2011. The role will
be responsible for the planning and seamless move of the archives and
heritage collection to the newly renovated Brown House, and the ongoing
upkeep of the archives for the Diocese.

 

Reporting to the Director of Facilities Management the selected
candidate's responsibilities will be archives management, appraisal,
accessioning, information management, preservation and conservation,
staff training and supervision of volunteers. Specific duties include
providing control of the Archive, serving as the resource of all
historical data and records, assisting with research while interfacing
with Diocese parishes.

 

Requirements include qualifications (or working towards) in archives
management, up to 3 years experience in cataloguing and assembling
archive materials and a thorough understanding of contemporary archives
and recordkeeping concepts, best practice records, archives management
and issues. 

 

Candidates must have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
with formal presentation skills. Must be able to work quickly, make
swift decisions and multi task.
