Sue Johnson, from the New Norcia Library, would like to remind you about registering for the New Norcia Library Lecture. Registrations close on Friday September 2. See below for details.

Reasons for attending the New Norcia Library Lecture at New Norcia on Friday September 9:

 

You can enter the monastery gates and tour rooms normally closed to the public. They include two libraries, the refectory and the chapter room.

 

You can hear stimulating lectures on the future of libraries, librarianship and the search for information from eminent librarians.

 

Roxanne Missingham, Parliamentary Librarian in Canberra, and former president of ALIA, will deliver the key lecture, titled

                "How Many Roads Must a Library Walk Down?"

 

Kerry Smith, from Curtin University Department of Information Studies, also former president of ALIA, has titled her talk

                 "Preserving the Information Commons: Libraries, Google and Monks"

 

This is great value for professional development. $77 (or $33 for students) includes the lectures, the tour of the monastery, lunch, morning and afternoon tea, and also free entry to the Museum/Art Gallery.

 

You must register your name and pay in advance. Registrations close on Friday September 2. See registration form below
