Guest Speaker: Domenic Chiera is a Solution Specialist for Microsoft

SharePoint is a business collaboration platform that enables people to
connect, communicate and collaborate with each other through formal and
informal business communities, within the enterprise and beyond, and to
manage content effectively throughout the information lifecycle.
SharePoint is in increasing use within both government and private
enterprise as written about in the July/August issue of the IDM
magazine.

The consolidation of collaboration solutions onto SharePoint 2010 makes
it possible to cut costs through lower training costs, increased IT
productivity and cost-effective maintenance, all within a governable and
compliant platform. 

Our Guest Speaker, Domenic Chiera will walk us through the features and
functionalities of SharePoint 2010, including Social Networking, Search,
Offline, Data Visualisation as well as an explanation of its records
management functionality.

Post-Presentation Demonstration: for those interested, particularly
those who saw Debbie Cutts' June 2010 presentation which showed a little
of the Fremantle Ports' integration of TRIM and SharePoint, a
demonstration of the integration of TRIM 7 with SharePoint 2010 will
show in more detail how SharePoint 2010 can support back-end records
management within a front-end collaborative environment.

Domenic Chiera is a Solution Specialist for Microsoft in Perth focusing
on the Microsoft Business Productivity tools. Domenic has spent the last
10 years working with customers on business productivity improvement and
business process automation solutions. Domenic has a real passion for
increasing business productivity and delivering strong business benefits
through software solutions. These solutions include knowledge
management, workflow, Document Management, portal, and IT
collaborations. Working with local customer to solve business issues
with Microsoft Technologies such as Microsoft Office SharePoint, Office
Client, Unified Communications, Microsoft Project Service and Visio.
