Methodist Ladies' College (MLC) is one of Australia's most respected and
innovative schools with over 2,200 students from our Early Learning
Centre to Year 12. We currently have a unique and exciting opportunity
for a skilled and motivated professional to join our Development Office
in the part time position of Archivist.

 

The role of Archivist at MLC is required to collect, preserve,
catalogue, provide access and retrieval procedures and to encourage the
expansion of the College's archival collection.  In addition to
communicating the history and traditions of the College through
displays, contributions to publications and presentations, the Archivist
will also provide expert advice on records management and conservation.

 

The successful applicant will possess a relevant tertiary qualification
and demonstrate a strong understanding of archives, conservation,
museums and records management methods.  Strong computer skills,
together with experience using records management software are
essential.  Effective communication skills and the ability to work
autonomously are also required.

 

This is an ongoing part time position (30 hours per week) with ten weeks
leave per annum.
