INDEXING OFFICER OPPORTUNITY 

 

Corporate Information Services at the Department of Environment and Conservation is looking for an Indexing Officer for our small team working in the Atrium Building, Perth.  Below are details of the position:  

 

(1)  The position is full time - 7.5 hours per day with 1/2 hour lunch.

(2)  The officer would be working on a roster - hours of 8am-4pm some days and 9am-5pm other days.   

(3)  Duties of the position include:

*	Indexing of correspondence to the correct corporate file. 
*	Registration of correspondence into the TRIM recordkeeping system. 
*	Creating files - using a Keyword Thesaurus to establish file titles. 
*	Closing files - using a Retention and Disposal Schedule to apply disposal codes. 
*	Providing client services and answering client enquries. 
*	Assisting with mail distribution from time to time.   

(4)  Desirable: Experience in a records management environment and experience in an indexing role.[Pauline Joseph]  Students note training will be provided for you.

(5)  Preferred: Experience in using the TRIM or Objective recordkeeping system.

 

Preferred start date of 7 December 2009, can be a little flexible on this date.  If we find the right candidate, there is potential for a 3 month contract with possible extension.
