There is a job opportunity at Swan TAFE for a permanent and fulltime
library technician position. Swan TAFE is a large (multi campus
institution) and dynamic organisation.

Job Description
Assists the Campus Librarian to provide a quality information service to
Swan TAFE customers. Develops library orientation programs and conducts
training and information programs for staff and students. Operates and
maintains effective library systems.

Selection Criteria

Essential: Able to Demonstrate

1. Diploma in Library/Information Studies or approved equivalent, or
significant progress towards completion.
2. Well developed customer service skills, including the ability to
relate effectively with people of various life experiences and ability
to maintain confidentially at all times.
3. Well developed communication skills, including the ability to speak
to groups.
4. Current computer skills including library systems software, PC
applications, Internet and online database searching skills. 
5. Ability to supervise staff and work as part of a team, working
unsupervised at times, within agreed policy guidelines..

Desirable:
1. Knowledge and experience in a library environment.
2. Knowledge of relevant legislation, eg EEO, OHS and Copyright Act.
