The ABC is looking for a suitably qualified and/or experienced library
officer to undertake general library duties as part of a small team in a
busy audio/visual library. Students undertaking Library/Information
studies may also apply. 
The successful applicant will provide support for ABC program makers
using ABC and external resources and will be able to carry out general
library tasks (cataloguing, research, loans, etc) independently and more
complex tasks under direction. The successful applicant will also assist
with training of staff and clients in use of internal library systems
and carry out administrative tasks to support the efficient operation of
the library including (but not limited to) record-keeping, collating
statistics and rostering. 
This position will see the Cataloguer/Researcher working on a
Part-time/Shift basis (20hrs/week), with the ability to work a 4 day
week when required.
Selection Criteria:

1.	Tertiary qualifications in Library/Archives/Information
Management related studies, or working toward same, or equivalent
relevant experience.

2.	Demonstrated research and cataloguing skills, using a wide range
of resources, processes and computer based systems, with the ability to
work to tight deadlines. 

3.	Strong customer focus with good reference and communication
skills and ability to work effectively within small team. 

4.	Ability to evaluate material for archival and production value.

5.	A basic understanding of copyright law as it applies to the
media and sales.

6.	Good organisational, written and spelling skills.

7.	A good knowledge of current affairs and/or music and/or an
interest in the visual history of Australia.

8.	Ability to learn, interpret and apply relevant ABC policies and
procedures.
