Is your library thinking about implementing Radio-frequency Identification (RFID)?
Heard of RFID but want to know more?
Haven't heard of RFID but think you should have?


You are invited to an ALIA Information Online Group (IOG) Excellence Award event.
 
The IOG Excellence Award is one of ALIA's premier awards to acknowledge excellence/innovation in performance by an information professional.  The winner also has the opportunity to disseminate information about their project by undertaking an IOG Online Tour to a number of Australian locations, to discuss and share information about the project/study.  The inaugural winner in 2007 was Leona Jennings from the Coast Gold Coast City Council (GCCC) Library Service, for their RFID implementation project.
 
A session by Leona Jennings outlining the challenges and issues of implementing RFID will be held on Wednesday 2nd July 2008 at the State Library of Western Australia, Great Southern Room from 8.30am - 3.30pm.
 
As this is a cost recovery event the cost for the day has been kept low.  Cost for the day is $15 +GST ($16.50) for members $25 +GST ($27.50) for non-members (includes morning tea).  Correct change on the day would be appreciated. 
 
Kindly note that guests should arrive at the State Library between 8.00am-8.15am and enter the building from the Staff Entrance doors adjacent to Francis Street.
